Antwort auf: Octave V40 and some questions! von Snoop am 14 Juni, 2006 um 22:20:37:
Hi.
: Is it in some way possible to modificate the v40 so you can use the black box from v70?
The so called "Super Black-Box" of the V70 can NOT be used with the V40.
If you feel that you need the Super Black-Box (and KT88), you might better think of buying a V70 instead of the V40.
: If i have a surround receiver or amplifier can i then use the octave for the front channels in a surround system and the other channels driven by the surround receiver, it doesn't have preout och main in so i belive it will be difficult.
You can order the Amp with Pre-Out and/or Main-in for cheap extra money.
I don't know, if theses options can be installed afterwards. I think so, ...
: I don't have preout on the octave, which is the best way to connect a subwoofer to this amplifier?
Pre-Out: see above.
But: Connecting a Sub via High-Level (i.e. Speaker-Output) is not always a bad choise. Can be even better, than via Pre-Out (depends).
: The last Question is: can i use KT88 in the v 40?
I think(!) so. But other user are the tube rolling experts.
: Do you guys have any recomendation on other setups that will sound better then the original El 34?
"better" or "different"? ;-)
I think, its more a question of the latter one.
Take care
