Hi William,
I combine QUAD ESL988 with Octave V70 and other tube amps. It works great because the lowest impedance is still 4 Ohm. Some weeks ago I tried Martin Logan Summit with my current tube amp (no Octave) but here you could hear that higher frequencies are reduced because of very low impedance!
All QUAD ESL are fantastic to combine with great tube amps!
