You sure can. I experienced best sound reslults using the 6L6GC-SVT (the Svetlana tube). This is actually one of my true favorites.
KT88 of JJ

6L6GC-SVT ov Svetlana, as indicated in the extension already.
Preamp tubes E88CC of JJ and ECC803S of JJ. Preamp tube of SINO (ECC88-C "china") is also good (punchy). JJ warmer.
True for V40 and V70 I had. Keep on roling ...
